This week on the Hub Program Spotlight we would like to feature Friends University Men’s and Women’s Golf! Friends U competes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference as part of the NAIA. Friends Women’s Golf is one of the few fortunate programs to be able to continue competing in tournaments this fall during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the university just recently announced the addition of the men’s program that will launch in 2021.

The addition of the men’s team will mark the team’s first relaunch since 2015. Men’s Golf has nine schools who compete in the KCAC, and search committees are in the process of searching for a coach to lead the program. This head coach will also serve as the overall Director of Golf for Friends University.
The Friends Falcons Women’s Golf team is led by head coach Paul Howe ([email protected]), who has been coach of the team for the past five years. In 2018, Howe guided the Falcons to their first tournament win in program history, winning their home invitational in a comeback from two strokes behind in the final day.
Despite their Spring 2020 season being shortened, the Friends U Falcons have competed in a few events this fall season. Last week, the Falcons’ Women’s Golf team won the Duel vs. OPSU (Oklahoma Panhandle State University) after travelling to play in Derby, KY!
