Kelly Shanahan
Graduating in Spring 2022
From Coral Springs, FL
This week we would like to feature Hub member Kelly Shanahan in the Athlete Spotlight! Kelly is from Coral Springs, FL, and she is currently in her junior year of high school. Just a few weeks ago, Kelly captured the FHSAA 2A State Championship in high school. She shot 71-69, and sank a 40 foot putt on the final hole of the event! Kelly finished the tournament at -4, and then came up big in the playoff after the runner-up made an eagle on the 72nd hole to tie her at -4. Her win in a field of 105 players beat third place by 10 shots, and her high school, American Heritage, won the team championship by 20 strokes.

Now captain of American Heritage school, this is the third time in four years her school has won the 2A FHSAA State Championship. She has been competing in state championships since 6th grade. This past summer, Kelly has recorded 2 top-10 finishes in FJT events. She finished T-11 at the AJGA Senior Showcase at Saddlebrook.
Over her last 10 scores, Kelly has posted a 75.8 scoring average. Her low round is a 68, and she aspires to play collegiate golf after high school. In 2018 and 2019, Kelly was named to the 1st Team All-County by both the Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinel and Miami Herald.
Junior Golf Hub wishes Kelly the best for her junior year and beyond. Keep up the great work!
