JUNIOR GOLF HUB’S RICK DOWLING NAMED PLAYER OF THE YEAR
BY THE CONNECTICUT STATE GOLF ASSOCIATION

RIDGEFIELD, Conn., Dec. 5 – Rick Dowling III, an integral member of the team at The Junior Golf Hub in Ridgefield, was named Connecticut State Golf Association Player (CSGA) of the Year.  Dowling finished 253 points ahead of the second place finisher and had one of the most successful seasons in CSGA history.

In May, Dowling won the Wilson Cup Invitational in Scarsdale. Later that month he was part of the winning amateur side in the Julius Boros Challenge at New Haven. In June, he captured his second Connecticut Amateur Championship in three years. In early August, Dowling finished T2 in the Public Links at Wintonbury Hills. He then finished third in the Mid-Amateur at Shuttle Meadow Country Club.

“This was a special year for me and I’m honored to receive the 2019 Dick Tettelbach Player of the Year Award from the CSGA,” said Dowling. “My game is improving and I’m in a good place now. I’m looking forward to next year.”

In his day job Dowling plays a key role as Customer Success Leader at The Junior Golf Hub (JGH), the premier online community for junior golfers. The JGH is designed to help juniors realize their dreams of playing golf in college by connecting digitally on a unique network created exclusively for student-athletes, parents, and college golf coaches.

The Junior Golf Hub was founded to help players and parents navigate the journey to college golf while helping coaches find top talent. Players create profiles that are searchable by college coaches, ‘Find and Follow’ college golf programs and receive education on the do’s and don’ts of the recruiting process. College coaches find and filter the top talent they are looking for.

“It’s rewarding to help junior golfers navigate the journey to the next level,” added Dowling, a 2015 graduate of Fairfield University and a two-time captain of the school’s Men’s NCAA Division-one Golf Team. “I was very fortunate to play golf at Fairfield for four years and I enjoy sharing my experiences with aspiring college players.”

“Rick is extremely dedicated to helping young golfers realize their goal of playing college golf and he’s a tremendous asset to The Junior Golf Hub,” said JGH Founder and President, Roger Knick, a PGA Professional who was named winner of the Youth Player Development Award by the Metropolitan Section of the PGA of America. Knick also runs The Golf Performance Center in Ridgefield. More than 100 junior golfers have gone through Knick’s programs and landed scholarships on Division-one college teams.
