The Stanford women’s golf team has once again demonstrated its prowess on the greens, winning their fourth consecutive tournament at the Bruin Wave Invitational. This victory underscores the team’s depth of talent, as multiple players contribute to these remarkable results.

A Record-Breaking Win

The Stanford Cardinal, currently the top-ranked team in the nation, led the field with a 22-shot lead in the Bruin Wave Invitational. This extraordinary performance not only led to victory but also set a new team scoring record for the event at Valencia Country Club in California.

Teamwork and Talent

What stands out in Stanford’s continued dominance is the contribution of its entire lineup. In the latest tournament, Paula Martin Sampedro clinched the medalist honor with a birdie on the final hole, edging out teammate Andrea Revuelta. Revuelta herself had claimed the trophy just two weeks prior while competing individually.

This breadth of talent extends further. Megha Ganne, the U.S. Women’s Amateur champion, was absent from the Cardinal lineup this time around. Yet, her absence did not dent the team’s performance. Martin Sampedro’s win marks her as the fourth individual titleholder from Stanford in the 2025-26 season. This achievement mirrors the previous season, where four different Stanford players also won a tournament.

Consistent Success

Further contributing to Stanford’s success, senior Ganne and sophomore Meja Ortengren have earned medalist honors. Kelly Xu and Ortengren’s top-ten finishes at Valencia CC solidify the team’s standing as the deepest in women’s college golf.

Martin Sampedro’s latest win is her third in her college career, making her the 10th Stanford player with at least three career victories. Revuelta joined this prestigious group last week, and Ganne also boasts membership.

Stanford’s Dominance Continues

Co-hosts Pepperdine and UCLA trailed behind Stanford in the tournament, finishing second and third respectively. Pepperdine’s Kylie Choi secured a third-place finish individually. However, as has been the trend in post-COVID college golf, Stanford’s depth of talent shone brightly, once again dominating the tournament.

Stanford’s impressive run in recent tournaments underscores the depth and dynamism within its ranks. As the team continues to dominate the greens, it sets a high bar for women’s college golf and provides an inspiring example of teamwork and talent.
