We have many ideas to make the Junior Golf Hub great, but like building an efficient golf swing, you must start with a strong foundation. Our first, basic product release is nearing completion, and we hope it serves as the cornerstone to becoming the premier web-based junior golf resource on the market. We are preparing to release Junior Golf Hub in conjunction with the AJGA Junior Golf Hub Preview Series events kicking off in mid-March. Here is a sneak peek at the features you can expect to see in our first product release:
For Players:
Create a free Hub Profile: Junior Golf Hub works similar to LinkedIn for the golfing community. Players and Coaches create profiles and share information in a compelling, digital format. We’ve designed the Athlete and Coach profiles to make it very easy for Athletes and Coaches to find important information quickly.
College Database: Our team has compiled a complete list of collegiate golf programs—and pre-loaded helpful school-specific and golf-specific information—to assist the Athlete in his or her college search.
Follow a Program: Really like a school? Express your interest and follow their program. This will transfer the program over to your ‘My Schools’ area in your profile. Following a program helps an Athlete in two ways. First, a follow gets an Athlete on the coach’s radar, and lets the coach know an athlete is interested in the school and/or golf program. Secondly, it creates a shortcut to that school in your ‘My Schools’ page, which can be very helpful when comparing schools.
Send a Coach a Link to your Hub Profile: We’ve built in a feature that allows an Athlete to send a link to his/her profile directly to a Coach. Add your swing video, upcoming tournaments, bio, and your results—and your profile is ready! Get notifications when a Coach follows you or updates his/her program information.
For Coaches:
Claim your free Hub profile: Email the Junior Golf Hub Team and claim your program’s profile today! This is the page athletes will see when they search for your program. We set this up to give you the ability to market and present your school to golfers on our site. We have pre-populated most of this information, but Coaches can always edit the information featured on the profile to stand out and attract great talent.
Search and filter through Talent: One of our main goals is to create the largest, most comprehensive database of junior golfers in the world and supply it to Coaches. Search our athlete database and filter by demographics, scoring and rankings, and academics. Click through profiles quickly and find important personal and golf-specific information via our industry standard athlete profile. We’ve designed this to target millennials, so it looks like a Facebook or LinkedIn profile. The profile has two main sections, a column for personal information, which includes a quick snapshot of who the athlete is, their goals and contact information, and an expanded column for their golfing highlights/achievements and an area to upload swing video.
Follow an athlete: Find an Athlete who matches your program, follow them, and track their progress over time in your ‘My Athletes’ page. This central location makes it easy to track your targeted Players, and get notifications when an Athlete updates his/her profile. Tag Athletes according to how you might characterize their abilities or particular fit for your program. Take notes and customize the display based on your preferences.
