Farah O’Keefe, the young golfing sensation from Texas, has left an indelible mark on the prestigious Curtis Cup, becoming only the fourth player in the tournament’s history to clinch five victories in a single match. Her extraordinary performance was instrumental in propelling the United States to an impressive 13-7 win against Great Britain and Ireland at the esteemed Bel-Air Country Club.

The Curtis Cup, a tournament steeped in tradition dating back to 1932, has witnessed the Americans establish a dominant 32-9-3 lead in the series. O’Keefe’s exploits have positioned her among esteemed company, joining the ranks of American golfers Stacy Lewis (2008) and Kristin Gillman (2018), and Bronte Law (2016) from Great Britain and Ireland, as the only players to achieve the remarkable 5-0-0 record.

O’Keefe’s victory over future Longhorns teammate Charlotte Naughton, which culminated in a 2-and-1 win, was the icing on the cake of what she described as ‘definitely the highlight of my career so far.’

Prior to this, O’Keefe had already made waves as the low amateur at The Chevron Championship, the first LPGA major of the year. Furthermore, she clinched the NCAA individual title at La Costa just last month, underscoring her rapid ascendancy in the world of golf.

Following closely on O’Keefe’s heels was teammate Kiara Romero, who secured the deciding point with a 1-up victory over Isla McDonald-O’Brien, thus putting the United States on top.

Earlier in the day, Jasmine Koo and young prodigy Asterisk Talley also notched wins for the United States. Koo emerged victorious in a nail-biter against Nellie Ong (1-up), while the 17-year-old Talley defeated Davina Xanh with a 2-and-1 triumph. An elated Koo, who is one of the three returning U.S. players from 2024, expressed her joy, saying, ‘I’m so over the moon. I don’t know how to feel right now. I’m super happy.’

In the concluding matches, American Anna Davis triumphed over Beth Coulter (4 and 3), and Kary Hollenbaugh eked out a win over GB&I’s Lily Hirst (1 up). Patience Rhodes and Sophia Fullbrook also contributed to the American success, winning the opening two matches for Great Britain.
