The race for glory is officially underway as the 2026 NCAA Division I men’s college golf conference championships begin. Teams are fighting for more than just a trophy. A win guarantees a “golden ticket” to the NCAA Regionals. For bubble teams, these tournaments represent a final chance to extend their season. Ultimately, the best squads will travel to the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, for the National Championship.

The Road to La Costa

Twenty-nine teams will earn automatic qualifying spots through their conference tournaments. In total, thirty elite programs will reach the prestigious greens of La Costa. To get there, teams must first navigate one of six regional sites. Only the top five squads from each regional will advance to the final stage in California.

First Champions Crowned

The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) kicked off the postseason at Oxmoor Valley in Birmingham, Alabama. Arkansas-Pine Bluff dominated the field to emerge victorious. Meanwhile, Vicente Rodriguez from Alabama A&M took home the individual medalist honors. These early results set a high bar for the rest of the country.
