A Strong Start for the Cowgirls
The Oklahoma State University women’s golf team has launched their spring 2026 season with a strong start. Fondly known as the Cowgirls, the team secured the No. 20 spot in the NCAA rankings. This accomplishment highlights their steady performance. In fact, they have maintained a top-20 ranking in all nine lists published this season.
NCAA Division I Rankings
The official NCAA Division I rankings now use the Scoreboard by Clipp’d system. This comprehensive method factors in course difficulty and field depth. Consequently, the Cowgirls have accumulated 51.18 total points. Meanwhile, Stanford holds the top spot with a lead of 61.49 points.
A Consistent Top 25 Run
This achievement marks a consecutive 16-week presence for the team in the top 25. Furthermore, this streak equals the school record for the longest run in the top 25. This record dates back to the start of the new ranking system in 2023.
Performance in the Big 12 Conference
Within their conference, the Cowgirls’ performance remains admirable. Specifically, they are the third-highest ranked team in the Big 12. Only No. 15 UCF and No. 18 Arizona State currently sit higher in the standings.
Individual Successes
The individual achievements of team members reinforce the group’s collective success. Seven of the nine golfers on the roster hold individual rankings. Remarkably, four of these athletes have secured positions within the top 200.
Senior Grace Kilcrease leads the Cowgirls at the No. 66 spot. Additionally, Golfweek named her a preseason All-American. Other team members in the top 200 include Marta Silchenko and Ellie Bushnell. Lucy Darr also holds a spot at No. 170. Moreover, sophomores Tarapath Panya and Summer Lee hold solid rankings. Finally, freshman Yu-Chu Chen debuted in the rankings at No. 410.
Upcoming Challenges
The Cowgirls are now preparing for their next major challenge. They will compete in the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate competition. This event takes place on February 9-10 in Tucson, Arizona.
