The Auburn Tigers have wrapped up not only one of their best golf seasons in the program’s history, but one of the most dominant in the history of collegiate golf.

Over the course of the 2023-24 season, the Auburn Men’s golf team set a new program record with 10 tournament wins, doubling the wins held by the previous record (5). The Tigers won seven straight tournaments to close out the season, including the SEC Championship, Regionals, and the NCAA National Championship, becoming the first SEC team since 2014 to secure all three major postseason event titles.

Head Coach, Nick Clinard, is the man behind this incredible team. Clinard has been a head coach for 23 years overall and finished his 15th season with the Auburn men’s team this year. In his time at Auburn, the program has seen one of its most successful stretches in all of its 75 year existence. Last year, the Tigers finished top 10 at the NCAA Championship for their second consecutive year and captured five team wins along the way, an accomplishment that has not been made by an Auburn team in almost three decades.

For all his work and the team’s accomplishments this season, Clinard was awarded the 2024 Dave Williams Division I National Coach of the Year, presented by Golf Pride Grips, the GCAA, and Golf Channel.

“It is an honor to now be in this select club,” Clinard said. “All of the credit goes to the players over the past 15 years that have helped build our program to what it is today. This award represents the long nights, long practices, early morning workouts and a group of young men that share a vision and a dream. I’m extremely grateful to be selected for this prestigious award” (via Auburn).

This season, Auburn garnered a 185-9-1 head to head record and the Tigers were 46-1-1 against teams from the Southeastern Conference. Auburn players garnered a number of awards this season including All-SEC honors, SEC Freshman of the Year, SEC Player of the Year, four All-Region honors, two invitations to Palmer Cup – Team USA, the Ben Hogan Award, the Fred Haskins Award (Jackson Koivun), the Jack Nicklaus Award, the Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award, and two first team All-America recognitions.

What a year for the Tigers!
