This past weekend, Scottie Scheffler won his second Masters at Augusta National, having secured his first in 2022. Scheffler is the third University of Texas alum to don the coveted green jacket, the first being Ben Crenshaw in 1984. The Masters started in 1934 and over the course of the 87 times it has been played, there have been 56 winners. Seven of those wins have come from two Stanford alumni, Tom Watson and Tiger Woods, six from one former Ohio State golfer, Jack Nicklaus, and four from Arnold Palmer, a Wake Forest alum. In total, these four players from three different schools account for 17 wins of the iconic tournament’s history. Other notable alumni since 1955 include Phil Mickelson with three wins, and Jon Rahm with one, both from Arizona State, and Jordan Spieth who was the second pro from the University of Texas in Austin to win.
