Harding University men’s golf just secured the No. 3 seed for the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional. The NCAA Division II committee announced the field following Harding’s strong runner-up finish at the conference championships. This high ranking rewards a season defined by grit and high-level play.

Tournament Details and Venue

The No. 19-ranked Bisons will travel to Big Rapids, Michigan, for the postseason. The Katke Golf Course will host the regional tournament from May 7 to 9. Ferris State University serves as the official event host. This elite competition features 20 teams and eight individual qualifiers. Half the field comes from the Central Region, while the other half represents the Midwest.

Championship Momentum and Leadership

Harding enters the regional with massive momentum. Junior Dennis Staykov leads the squad into battle. He recently earned the GAC Player of the Year award and an individual title. Furthermore, the Bisons boast two tournament wins and 127 head-to-head victories this year. Their .852 winning percentage reflects incredible consistency. Because of this depth, the team expects a deep run in Michigan.

The Road to the National Finals

Central Oklahoma and Central Missouri hold the top two seeds in the Central Region. Nevertheless, the Great American Conference (GAC) remains a dominant force. Arkansas Tech took the No. 7 seed, and Southern Arkansas secured the No. 8 spot. Additionally, Conrado Diaz Ermacora qualified as an individual. These teams will all battle for a spot in the national finals.

This selection confirms Harding’s status as a top-tier program. The team combines raw skill with a proven track record. Consequently, they are ready for the challenges at Katke. The Bisons aim to make every stroke count as they pursue a national title.
